Anything other than standard skeg or cavitation plate welding--such as crack in bell
housing--lower unit must be completely emptied. 

Machining internal welded areas and external cracks, billed on time and material basis.

Whereas the welding process generates a great deal of heat that could possibly distort
gear housings and blow out otherwise undetectable pinhole leaks, we do not recommend nor warranty any welding repairs to gear case housings.

EXTRA CHARGE

Lower units needed to be shipped by United Parcel Service:

Complete upper and lower units will not be shipped UPS---additional charges will occur for this
service.

All oil should be drained from lower unit before repair. Waste oil and welding safety regulations make it time consuming, increase handling, and will reflect in the repair cost.

Any such work undertaken on all lower unit shall only be at the owners risk.

Whereas the heat generated in the welding process can damage parts, such as but not limited to, plastic retainer rings and oil seals, we strongly recommend that all shafts and bearings and other parts be removed before repair. NO responsibility will be accepted for the removal of or for possible damage to the unit or any parts left in place.
